Announcement from Metrolink:
Metrolink and the Orange County Transportation Authority’s (OCTA) popular $7 round-trip Angels Express Train service is set to kick off again for the 2012 baseball season beginning April 2.
The Angels Express provides service to all weekday home games starting at 7:05 p.m. from Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo or L.A. Union Station to Angel Stadium of Anaheim.
In addition, service is being introduced this season from Riverside-Downtown to the Anaheim Station (via transfer at the Orange Station) for all Friday Angels home games starting at 7:05 p.m.
Fans can enjoy the convenience of taking the train to the Angel Stadium of Anaheim parking lot without the hassle of sitting in traffic and paying up to $20 for parking. Last year more than 20,000 baseball fans took advantage of the safe, affordable and reliable transportation to games.
“Following last year’s successful launch, we highly recommend that Southern Californians take advantage of the Metrolink service to save time and money while having a positive impact on the environment,” said OCTA Chairman and Metrolink Board Member Paul Glaab, who is also the mayor of Laguna Niguel.
Metrolink Angels Express Trains will depart from the station 30 minutes after the end of each game.
On Friday nights, the Angels Express Trains will be leaving 45 minutes after the game, allowing riders to enjoy the post-game fireworks.
Metrolink Angels Express tickets are $7 round-trip for adults, $6 for seniors/disabled, $4 for youth (ages 6-18) and free for children ages 5 and under accompanied by a paying adult. Special Angels Express Train tickets can be purchased at ticket vending machines at Metrolink stations, or through OCTA.
For a limited time, Angels fans can receive a complimentary Angels game ticket voucher with the purchase of a Metrolink Angels Express Train ticket through OCTA. Vouchers will be available beginning March 26. Tickets purchased at Metrolink ticket vending machines are not redeemable for the voucher offer.
This service is a partnership of Metrolink and OCTA in cooperation with the Riverside County Transportation Commission, Metro and the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee, which provides funding to projects that remove motor vehicles from the roadways resulting in reduced emissions.
