Joe Jesse Villegas
Joe Jesse Villegas was born on Oct. 22, 1925 to Marcelino and Maria Villegas.
Joe enlisted in the US Navy in 1944 and served aboard the USS Sherbourne APA-205. Joe was given the Asiatic Medal along with the Pacific Star for World War II. He was also present in Tokyo Bay in 1945 when the Japanese Empire surrendered to the United States and their allies. Joe was discharged in 1946, and soon after he went to work with his brothers operating field equipment around the Perris area.
In 1949 he married the love of his life, Sara Mary Reyes, of San Jacinto and together they had six children, Cristina, Andrea, Steve, Kathy, JoAnn, and Nick. Joe was also a glazier for over 30 years; he and his son, Steve, opened a glass shop in Perris in 1979.
Joe started his ministry in 1985 and traveled all over Mexico serving the Lord. The most important thing in his heart was helping the poor. When he could do something for someone in need it brought love and joy to his heart.
And for those who were blessed to have known Joe, know he will truly be missed.
Joe was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, and survived by one sister.
