Pedro Cortez Espinoza a resident of Corona for 40 years passed away at his home on Sunday, March 18th, 2012 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Purepero, Michoacán in Mexico on June 5th, 1920.

He was the last remaining of 7 children. He married the love of his life, Eloiza Cortez on March 19th, 1951 and had 6 children, 6 grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters.

He will be greatly missed and remembered by his sons, David, Salvador, and Eduardo, daughters Marta, Adela Leon Cortez, Maria Melgoza, son-in-law Tony Melgoza; grandchildren Manuel, Diana and Eddie Leon, Lisette, Marco and Sebastian Melgoza, granddaughter-in-law Heather Leon, and great-granddaughters Larissa Ramirez, Olivia and Sophia Leon.

Services will be open to family and friends. A viewing and rosary will be held at Thomas Miller Mortuary on Friday, March 23rd from 5-9 pm, Mass will be held at 10 am on Saturday, March 24th at St. Edwards Catholic Church, followed by a burial at Sunny Slope Cemetery.
