Virginia “Grace” Raffy 89, of Riverside, CA, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 18, 2012 and returned to the arms of her sweetheart, Alex. She was born on July 15, 1922 in New York City, New York.

She married the love of her life, Alex Raffy on July 15, 1943. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, and will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alex (2002), her brother Tim Heard (2011) and her grandson Brian Courtney (2000).

She is survived by her sister Marion Mortati, Cherry Valley, CA; her daughters: Virginia Kirby, Riverside, CA, and Marion Elizabeth Courtney, Titusville, FL; her son Tom Raffy, Riverside, CA; seven grandchildren, Kathleen, Elizabeth, Betty, Terry, Cara, James and Meghan and fourteen great- grandchildren, Colleen, Caroline, Celeste, Daniel, Claire, Donovan, Terry, Brandy, Charlie, Austin, Zoe, Dillon, Hayden and Alison.

Memorial Mass will be held Saturday March 24, 2012 at 10am at St. Andrews Newman Center, 105 W. Big Springs Road, Riverside, CA 92507; (951) 682-8751. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association , P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011, www.alz.org
